About
ELDT Safety Training SafeDrive Academy’s ELDT Safety Training is a structured onboarding program built specifically for motor carriers to train newly hired CDL drivers during orientation and early employment. The goal is to standardize safe habits from day one, reduce preventable violations, and ensure every new driver understands what “inspection-ready” and “compliance-ready” looks like in real operations. This training covers the essential foundations carriers expect new hires to master: Driver Wellness (fatigue awareness, safe routines, and fitness for duty), Whistleblower Protection (how drivers can report unsafe or illegal instructions without retaliation), and English Proficiency skills for professional communication during roadside inspections and day-to-day dispatch interactions. On the compliance side, drivers receive practical instruction on Hours of Service (HOS) and ELD log accuracy, including common errors that trigger audits and roadside violations. The program also provides a clear, carrier-friendly overview of Cargo Securement principles for multiple cargo types, helping new drivers prevent load shift, incidents, and securement citations. To complete onboarding readiness, drivers learn how to confidently handle enforcement encounters by Mastering the CVSA Level I (37-Step) Roadside Inspection—what inspectors check, how to present documents, and how to maintain an inspection-ready vehicle and driver profile every shift. Result for carriers: a consistent, repeatable onboarding training that improves safety culture, supports compliance, and helps new drivers start their careers with the right procedures, mindset, and professionalism.
