This training is designed for dispatchers, drivers, and safety personnel working in trucking companies that are not authorized to transport hazardous materials. The purpose of the course is to ensure all employees can recognize hazardous material shipments, prevent accidental acceptance of hazmat freight, and maintain full compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations. Participants will learn how to identify hazmat indicators such as UN numbers, hazard class labels, and high-risk commodities commonly misrepresented by brokers. The training also explains carrier responsibility, insurance restrictions, and the procedures required to refuse unauthorized shipments. Upon completion, employees will understand how to protect the company’s operating authority and safety rating by stopping hazardous materials from entering non-hazmat operations.
